Huejotzingo TUtP Visit
Joyce and I drove down to Chula Vista on Friday to spend the night with my sister-in-law who lives near the CBX crossing from the U.S. into the Tijuana airport. On Saturday we flew from TJ to Huejotzingo where our TUtP center is located. We were supposed to travel to the center back in July, but illness prevented that trip.
We landed at the airport during a lightening storm and heavy rain. Not a problem, except for getting a bit wet loading our luggage into the recently purchased TUtP SUV. The drive to the center took about 15 minutes. It was great to see our daughter Rachel and her husband Abraham (TUtP missionaries) and our two grandkids.
Sunday Abraham preached to a packed congregation at Dios es Amor, the congregation that we work with to do our annual VBS. Afterwards we did a bit of shopping and then held our usual Sunday afternoon Kid’s Club. The SUV enabled us to pick up some of the kids who otherwise could not attend.
Monday Rachel and Abraham invited friends to the center so their kids could swim in the inflatable pool and everyone could enjoy lunch together. These are friends who have helped with our various outreach efforts. Everyone had a great time. The new center is an ideal location to bring people together.
We have been discussing the use of the lot we recently purchased. Sometime in the next couple of days we’ll meet with the contractor who built the center to discuss building a wall around the new property so we can begin keeping bees and perhaps plant fruit trees that might provide some income in the future.
Joyce and I will be here until this coming Saturday.
Thanks for your prayers and support.
